Larry McNamee

Larry is a 5th-generation cattle rancher with deep roots in District 2 and a strong commitment to the future of rural communities. Having worked closely with WEC during the process of bringing power to his family's new construction ranch home built in Antelope in 2021, Larry understands the critical role reliable electric service plays in supporting rural livelihoods. He has also helped first hand when there have been power outages in the South Wasco County area. While he does not have direct leadership experience with a cooperative, his experience navigating utility infrastructure firsthand gives him a practical perspective on members' needs.

Larry worked for Deschutes Valley Water District in Madras, Oregon for 14 years before moving to Antelope full-time to run the family ranch and start his own small equipment company.

Larry stays informed on legislative issues affecting rural Oregon and regularly reads Ruralite to stay connected with WEC news. With a young family and a long-term stake in the community, he is eager to serve on the WEC Board to help shape the future of rural utilities and ensure the continued strength and sustainability of the district he calls home.
