Your New Electric Bill

Learn What’s Changing & Why Before Your Next Statement Arrives

We’re always looking for ways to improve your experience as a member of Wasco Electric Cooperative. Starting this month, you will notice your electric bill has a new look. The redesigned bill is part of our ongoing effort to make your account information easier to understand, more accessible, and more convenient for you.

A Fresh, Member-Friendly Design

The most noticeable change is the new layout and design of your monthly statement. We’ve updated the bill to make it more user-friendly, with a clearer breakdown of charges, usage graphs, and important account details. You can now see your monthly energy use at a glance, along with helpful comparisons to the previous month and the same time last year.

We’ve also made the total amount due and the due date easier to find, so you can quickly see what’s owed and when.

As part of this update, we’ve added a demand—or kilowatt—component line to all billing statements showing the rate charged. If you are a residential member, this line will show a $0 charge.

Energy use measures how much electricity you use over time in kilowatt-hours, and demand measures the highest amount of electricity you use at a single moment. Think of it like the difference between how far you drive in a month— kWh and —the fastest speed you reached on the highway—kW.

We’re using the redesign as an opportunity to show all the components that make up your electricity bill—even if you do not see a monthly charge for them—to help you better understand your bill.

We’ve listened to feedback from our members over the years and designed the new format to better highlight the information you care about most. Messages and notices are easier to read and better organized. Whether you’re a longtime member or new to the cooperative, we hope this update makes managing your account simpler and more transparent.

Improved Delivery & Efficiency

In addition to the redesign, we’ve made changes to how your bill is printed and delivered. We have partnered with an experienced, secure 3rd-party provider, Wright Business Services, to handle the printing and mailing of monthly statements. This allows us to streamline the billing process and ensure consistent, timely delivery.

Outsourcing this service brings several benefits to the co-op and our members. It allows our internal team to focus more time and resources on improving service reliability, energy programs, and member support. It also helps control operational costs, which contributes to maintaining stable rates over time.

What You Need to Know

While your bill may look different and come from a different return address, your account number, payment options, and service remain the same. You will continue to have access to all the same payment methods, including in-person payments, automatic bank drafts, online payments, and payments by phone.

If you receive your bill electronically through email or our online portal, you’ll still receive your statement in the same way—it will just reflect the new layout.

Questions? We’re Here to Help

We understand that change can sometimes raise questions, and we want to ensure you feel confident with the new format. Sample bills, FAQs, and more information are available on our website, and our member services team is ready to walk you through the changes or answer any concerns.

As a member-owned cooperative, transparency and communication are priorities. This bill update is one of many ways we continue to improve the way we serve you. We appreciate your support and look forward to continuing to power your homes and businesses with reliable electricity.
