Updates From Wasco Electric Cooperative

Lindsay Forepaugh, General Manager

As we move through the year, Wasco Electric Cooperative (WEC) continues to focus on improving service, strengthening infrastructure, and staying connected with you, our members.

Here are a few key updates:

Grass Valley Facility Rebuild

We rebuilding our facility in Grass Valley to better serve our members in Sherman County. This project will improve operational efficiency and provide a more functional and updated space for our crews and equipment.

Rate Adjustment Effective May 1

As previously communicated, a rate increase went into effect May 1. This adjustment helps offset rising power supply costs and ensures we can continue delivering safe, reliable service while maintaining financial stability. We remain committed to transparency and encourage members to reach out with any questions regarding their bills or the rate structure.

Our member service representatives are prepared to answer questions on your specific account, if you have any. Call our office at (541) 296-2740.

Member Appreciation Picnic on June 7

Mark your calendars! Our 4th annual Member Appreciation Picnic is Saturday, June 7, at the Wasco County Fairgrounds in Tygh Valley. This event is a chance for us to thank you for your continued support and for the community to come together. We hope to see you there for food, fun, and conversation.

Bylaw Edits Coming Later This Year

Later this year, we will present proposed edits to WEC’s bylaws for your consideration. These updates are part of our ongoing efforts to ensure our governance documents reflect current practices and support the cooperative’s mission moving forward.

Thank you for being a valued member of Wasco Electric Cooperative. We look forward to seeing you at the picnic and continuing to serve you in the months ahead.
