Wasco Electric Cooperative celebrated our engineering department the week of February 18.
Each year. WEC celebrates our engineers as a salute to George Washington, who is considered by many to be our nation's first engineer due to his survey work.
Our engineering staff spends most of their days designing and redesigning our distribution system. The work includes responding to new service requests. which expands our system. or looking for ways to improve our current system to continue to provide reliable power to our members. The team also maps our poles. wires. transformers and meters so other departments can assist members in a handful of ways.
Paul Titus is our professional engineer on staff. He has been with the cooperative since 2021, having joined us with 26 years of experience in designing distribution systems. substation rebuilds, metering, and building customer relationships.
Jim Green. the engineering department's stacking technician. spends most of his time assisting members with new service installations or existing facilities' upgrades.
With a large distribution system covering 5,000 square miles in 5 counties. 10 substations and roughly 4,800 meters. Our engineering department stays busy!
